Color Splash: Ombré

We just love, love, love ombré! While the word is actually French for shaded or graduated color, ombré makes us want to shout “olé!” because it is so festive. Incorporating ombré is a great way to bring in a monochromatic color palette in a fun and interesting way. While the look is fun, it can also be very elegant! Check out all of these gorgeous ideas!

From baby pink to coral to hot pink, there are so many shades of pinks, your options are virtually endless!

Save the Date: TWG's 3rd Annual Cake Competition on March 13

Nearlyweds and cakeophiles, mark your calendars! The 3rd Annual Texas Wedding Guide Platinum Cake Competition will be held on March 13, in the Pegasus Grand Ballroom of the Magnolia Hotel. The evening will delight brides and grooms with hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and, of course, CAKE!

Last year, Stardust's own Marsha and Jenny were honored to serve on the secret judges' panel. The event was a blast and the cake was phenomenal! It was a tough competition, but Opulent Cakes took the cake with the Best Taste Award while The Cake Guys snagged the coveted Best in Show title. Make plans to attend this sweet event to see who makes up the celebrity judge panel and who of the 10 competing bakeries will reign in cakes in 2012!

We have to give another shout-out to all of our wonderful brides who voted for Stardust Celebrations as a 2012 Knot Pick for Best Bridal Salon. We have just received our beautiful plaque that we will hang with pride in our salon, as well as the cute window decal designating us as a Knot Pick 2012.

Lazaro and Tara Keely Fashion Show Recap

As we kick off another exciting weekend of wonderful trunk shows, we wanted to share with you a little recap of the fabulous Fashion Show we hosted when the incredible Lazaro Perez was here with his collections.

Glamour and drama was the theme during an evening of fashion, food and fun as we showcased nine chic styles from the 2012 spring line of Tara Keely bridal gowns and two dozen show-stopping Lazaro bridal gowns, also of the spring 2012 collection. The elegant fashion show was modeled after the runway shows we attend in New York during Bridal Market. The intimate show gave our attendees an up-close look at the gowns’ sumptuous fabrics, exquisite beading and embroidery and the impeccable fit Lazaro is known for.

Several brides enjoyed appointments with the renown designer and were thrilled to find THE GOWN perfect for each of them with his assistance. Brides were blessed with a rendering of their gowns sketched by Lazaro on the spot – what an awesome keepsake!

We LOVE the emotion on this bride’s friend’s face; it says it all! (and look at Lazaro's expression as he watches - you can tell he truly loves his work!)

Absolutely stunning, right? We just love, love, love this color palette of red, black, white and touches of silver. The deep red, regal damask patterns and lots of bling produced such a rich feast for the eyes!
