Watters and David Tutera for Mon Cheri Trunk Shows this Weekend

It's a trunk show extravaganza for us this weekend - all three of our salons will host trunk shows this Friday, Saturday and Sunday featuring some of the most gorgeous new bridal gowns for 2015!

Watters will be showcased at both StarDust and A Curvy Bride!

The Watters Company started with a few handmade special occasion dresses for friends and family in California in the '80s. Today the Watters name is a household word in the bridal industry. Known as innovators in the bridal fashion industry, Watters creates gorgeous gowns that are recognized for their creativity and quality, and these gowns are sophisticated and gorgeous! Founder Vatana Watters continues to be intimately and passionately involved in the design direction of the company.

So HuffPost published this little post about the 25 most-pinned wedding gowns of 2014. And it just so happens that between StarDust and LuLu’s Bridal, our salons carry nearly half of these beauties! These gowns were the 25 most pinned gowns from the 7,500+ styles on Bridal Guide’s “Bridal Gowns” Pinterest board over the past 12 months!

We could not be happier about this, as it tells us that the gowns we are ordering from our phenomenal designer partners are right on track with what brides want! See what you think about these gorgeous coveted gowns!

A Tale of Two Gowns…Sort of

In honor of our Matthew Christopher trunk show coming up this weekend, we thought it would be fun to share a story with you about one Matthew Christopher gown that became two.

 

Lovely Monica came to StarDust in search of two different bridal gowns to accommodate both her very intimate ceremony with Chris at Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos Islands and their larger celebration back home at Rough Creek Lodge. When she began sharing her vision with StarDust stylist Marianne, our talented expert recommended another approach that would give Monica the two different feels she was going for, while also allowing her family and friends celebrating at the reception to enjoy the beautiful gown she wore during their beach wedding.

 

When Monica first came to us, she only knew that she wanted a gown appropriate for a wedding on the beach. Marianne helped her find the fabulous Serendipity gown by Matthew Christopher. Its flowing lines and breezy silk chiffon made it a perfect gown for a ceremony where the white sands and turquoise waters of the Caribbean come together.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When it was time to discuss Monica’s desire for a short reception gown, the idea of cutting Serendipity and re-fashioning the gown with a high-low hem was born. Monica loved the idea and thought it would be a great fit for her and Chris’s rustic-themed Texas reception – and it would go fabulously with her gorgeous cowboy boots! (And boy, did it!)

Stylist/designer Marianne worked with the amazing Ruth in our alterations department to bring the shorter, high-low Serendipity to life. After the wedding, Ruth and her team worked tirelessly to create the new version of the gown in the short time frame between Chris and Monica’s return from the honeymoon and their reception. We think you’ll agree they did an amazing job!

 

 

 

We asked Monica if she had any other thoughts or details about her experience she’d like to share and she said, “I just wanted to say thank you to all the people at StarDust who helped make both my wedding days possible and memorable. To both of my photographers who went above and beyond to capture the special moments of both of my days and last but definitely not least to my parents who without their love, support, encouragement and help none of my wedding dreams would have even been possible!”

Real Wedding: StarDust Bride is Lustrous in Hayley Paige

This real wedding holds a soft spot in our hearts because the stunning bride is family. Lovely Erica is the daughter of one of our talented stylists, Kathy. Erica and Chris tied the knot in a breath-taking mountaintop ceremony just outside of Glacier National Park in Montana. The fun-loving couple had family and friends travel in from nine states for their big celebration! Erica and Chris now call Montana home, but they both grew up in Plano; however, their paths never crossed until they were both settled in the mountains! Sounds like destiny to us!

Erica found her incredible Hayley Paige Lourdes bridal gown and Toni Federici veil at StarDust. The gorgeous lacy fit-and-flare gown was perfectly suited to the beautiful setting of her wedding. Erica's girls wore stylish pewter-hued Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dresses from LuLu’s Bridal.
