Watters and David Tutera for Mon Cheri Trunk Shows this Weekend

It's a trunk show extravaganza for us this weekend - all three of our salons will host trunk shows this Friday, Saturday and Sunday featuring some of the most gorgeous new bridal gowns for 2015!

Watters will be showcased at both StarDust and A Curvy Bride!

The Watters Company started with a few handmade special occasion dresses for friends and family in California in the '80s. Today the Watters name is a household word in the bridal industry. What is a trunk show exactly, you might be wondering? Sometimes we, who live and breathe weddings all the time, forget that terms and events that are common knowledge to us may not be so obvious to new brides embarking on their wedding planning journey. A bridal gown trunk show is one of these things.

Ubiquitous to the bridal industry, trunk shows are special in-store promotions or sales events when gown designers send expanded offerings of their new line to stores for brides to preview, try on and order. Often, salons will offer a special promotion or discount during a trunk show. By the way, you might be wondering how these events came to be called "trunk shows." The name comes from how the gowns used to be transported from salon to salon - in trunks!

Big Trunk Shows This Weekend: Claire Pettibone and David Tutera

StarDust Celebrations has two must-attend trunk shows going on this weekend (October 3-5)! First up, the uber-romantic collection from Claire Pettibone will be featured at the StarDust Bridal Salon.

Claire Pettibone began her love affair with bridal gowns at the age of four, after being mesmerized by a bride walking down the aisle of the historical St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Brides are now able to schedule an initial bridal consultation, a follow-up bridal consultation, an accessories/veil appointment and an appointment to try on a purchased bridal gown after its arrival.

An initial bridal consultation will be a one-and-a-half-hour personal appointment with a professional bridal stylist. We could not be more excited, as this will give each bride a dedicated stylist for an extended time to help her find the perfect gown.

We cannot believe it's already July! In honor of Independence Day, both StarDust Celebrations and LuLu's Bridal Boutique will be closed this Friday, July 4.
