8 Hot Trends at 2016 New York International Bridal Week

We are back from a whirlwind trip of runways, designer showrooms and the cutting edge of bridal fashion at New York International Bridal Week. We have been busy pouring over all of our notes and photos and could not be more excited about the parade of gorgeous gowns that will be headed to our salons over the next year. While we always love seeing those classic bridal elements like delicate lace, sumptuous fabrics and sparkly accessories - we noticed these 8 awesome trends that appeared on several runways.

Crop Tops
We've seen the thigh high slits, plunging necklines and open backs but a crop top is great for a bride to show off a subtly sexy flash of skin in a young, fresh way

Two Looks for the Cost of One
Talk about versatility - Get two looks in one with this super cool trend of a full airy skirt for that walk down the aisle and then remove to dance the night away at your reception!

Sparkle
Yes, beautiful bead work has been the specialty of some designers for years, but now we are seeing sparkle in bigger and bolder ways. Expertly placed on more red-carpet inspired silhouettes, these gowns would make any bride shine like a star. You know what they say... Never let anyone ever dull your sparkle!

Floral Details
This romantic garden-inspired trend popped up with many of our designers from printed pastels to delicate embroidered appliques. We can't get enough of the sweet, feminine feel it lends to these gowns.

Off the Shoulder Neckline
We love this neckline because it feels inherently timeless and feminine but adds a flirty twist to a gown with straps or sleeves.

Textured Skirts
Whether it's a ballgown, fit & flare or mermaid silhouette, dramatic textured skirts continue to make a showstopping entrance. Miles of feathered organza and layers of ruffles paired with embellished bodices or illusion lace make for one glamorous bride!

Light & Airy A-Line Silhouettes
Ethereal has been a word bouncing around the bridal fashion world for a few seasons now and that light, dreamy feel has been perfected in these soft a-line silhouettes. With subtle sparkle, color or lace, this shape is universally flattering for any bride-to-be.

Color
More and more, we see color that emphasizes the bride's skin tone. Designers are emphasizing mixed metallics, prints, contrasting lining colors and even color blocking.

There you have it, and that's just the highlights! Check out our trunk show schedule for dates throughout 2016 to view your favorite designer's collection and be sure to book your appointment in advance.  To inquire about a specific gown or designer, please call our bridal salon at 972-781-1619.
