Hosted by D Weddings in their posh downtown digs, the event offered brides, as well as their sister/best friend/mom/maid of honor, time to relax, sip Prosecco and get some great wedding advice.
The panel of three professional wedding planners fielded questions regarding creating realistic budgets, what to do first, new trends and even mother-in-laws! D Weddings Associate Editor Ryan Conner moderated the panel and told us that the event came to be out of a brainstorming session to connect their readers with their partners. “Connecting brides with the best wedding professionals in town to plan their perfect wedding day is what we strive to do – and it was fun to see it come to life in a fun event,” she said.
One of the hottest topics of the evening? What’s “in” and “out” as far as wedding trends. Newsflash: groom’s cakes and favors are no longer considered standard. Weddings do not have to have them! The audience got a kick out of this segment and loved hearing all three planners confirm: if you love it, do it. It is your day, after all!
Brides also really appreciated Marsha’s
expertise regarding wedding gowns. Ryan shared with us, “We thought Marsha
would be a great fit because of her long-standing reputation as local business owner and planner!” Her perspective on gown shopping and how that fits into the
overall wedding planning timeline was very enlightening, as was a discussion of
the still-hot trend of colored wedding gowns! In case you’re wondering, yes –
if you love the look of a colored gown, you should go for it!
The BNO was a great success, and the attendees loved the
candid conversation, as well as the smaller, intimate feel of the event. Each
bride was sent home with a sweet swag bag. The team at D Weddings envisions holding additional BNOs. To make sure you
don’t miss out on the next one, subscribe to their newsletter.
