'Tis the Season - to Get Engaged!

This time of year, our breathing quickens and our hearts start pounding. No, it is not in anticipation of Grandma's special pumpkin pie or Aunt Sue's perfectly browned turkey! It is our great excitement over Engagement Season!!! Engagement Season, while unofficial, is the time between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day when one-third of all marriage proposals happen! This 12ish-week period is when 30%+ of fellas seeking to make it official drop to bended knee and ask the girl of their dreams to marry them! Swoon!

While we're at it, we've just got to give a StarDust friend props for his beautiful proposal to one of our own! Jeremy asked our precious Devan to be his bride in our own little private courtyard here at the Plano bridal salon. Jeremy came to some of our creative team and ask them to help him pull off a romantic and intimate proposal, while still including her closest friends and coworkers. Nailed it! Take Me Out to the Ballgame...and Propose!

We stumbled upon this little gem that we just HAD to share in honor of Major League Baseball's Opening Day this past Monday. We've all seen those jumbotron proposals at sporting events. It turns out that it's not just luck that gets the happy couple on the giant video screen during the big ask. It takes planning, as well as a little bit of green. Check out this infographic from Swimmingly on the cost of proposing at an MLB ballpark.

Many of the parks offer packages at varying levels (from bare bones up to scoreboard coverage) and some ballparks do not allow proposals at all. Texas Rangers' Globe Life Park offers a nice middle-of-the-road package that includes a visit from the Rangers' horse mascot, Rangers Captain. Check out all of the details at Swimmingly.

It’s that time of year again: engagement season!

Did you know that about one-third of all proposals happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day? Chances are, if you read us regularly, you’re probably already engaged, but surely you know someone – a friend, sibling, coworker, cousin, etc. – who just might be proposed to or proposing this holiday season.
