StarDust Bridal Salon Honored with Award as Industry Favorite

Last night was a beautiful night of celebration. The American Association of Certified Wedding Planners (AACWP) held their Eighth Annual Vendi Awards, celebrating the favorite vendors of the esteemed organization's 100+ professional wedding planners. And guess what...

Yes - StarDust won the award for Favorite Bridal Salon! We are incredibly honored to recognized among a field of several worthy salons (one of which is our sister boutique, LuLu's Bridal!). The AACWP's polling method is a two-part process, where contenders must first be nominated, then voted on by the membership of the Association. Thank you, AACWP members, for this honor and for the privilege to serve you and your brides in this wonderful DFW wedding market! We love our jobs!

Another highlight of our evening was the promotion of two of our wedding planners from "trained" status to "certified."

Our planning rock stars Devan and Laura make it official, having exceeded the stringent requirements to earn Certified Wedding Planners status! Congrats, ladies!

James Clifford Hjelm Honored by DEBI with the Lifetime Achievement Award

StarDust Celebrations is thrilled to congratulate the legendary James Clifford Hjelm on being given the Lifetime Achievement Award by the DEBI (Distinctive Excellence in the Bridal Industry) Awards last week. An icon in the industry, James Clifford (also known as Jim Hjelm) was awarded this honor for his numerous excellent years of designing stunning bridal gowns. We could not be more excited for James to be awarded this honor and to be a partner with him in this industry.

Recruited early in his career by the prestigious Priscilla of Boston, James earned a reputation for gorgeously chic gowns made with the utmost quality and detailing. He spent nearly two decades at Priscilla, during which he designed for celebrities and political powerhouses – including two presidents’ daughters. Jim left Boston for New York in 1980 to serve as head designer at Galina Bouquet, where he worked to further establish his own style and really make his mark on the industry. His design philosophy is to strike the perfect balance between classic styling and modern fashion flare. And he is incredibly gifted at finding this ideal harmony! His efforts paid off in 1987 when he was invited to join a major bridal house and head up his own namesake line.

James again took major strides forward when in 2004, he joined Mon Cheri Bridals to launch his James Clifford Collection. The exclusive, upscale collection is a culmination of James’ legendary vision, extraordinary talent and unmistakable style.

In addition to his incredible design prowess, James is an absolutely lovely person. He personally attends many trunk shows for his gowns throughout the country, and we have been honored to host him at StarDust several times. He is warm and genuine, spending quality time not only with our brides but with our staff, as well. For such a creatively gifted designer, he is also very humble. We could not be happier that James was awarded this well-deserved honor.

StarDust Celebrations Awarded Favorite Bridal Salon by the AACWP

AACWP members, you astound and humble us! We are incredibly honored to have StarDust Celebrations selected again as the Favorite Bridal Salon by this extraordinary group of talented wedding planners.


Our elegant award will live in a place of honor displayed in our beautiful salon.

The membership of the American Association of Certified Weddings Planners is made up of more than 100 of the best and brightest wedding planners, admired and respected by the finest wedding vendors the state of Texas has to offer.

This year, the awards received a makeover and are now called The Vendi Awards. Cute, huh?

This was, however, the seventh year of the recognition celebration, and it stuns us to be able to say that we are the “reigning champions” in the bridal salon category - an unbelievable honor given the many wonderful bridal salons in this market.

This award belongs to our incredible staff, who work tirelessly and joyfully to serve every bride who walks through our door. It is our stylists’ passion and pleasure to help each bride find her perfect wedding gown for her special day. Thank you, thank you for your dedication and commitment to our brides and their families and to StarDust Celebrations!

Stardust Named as Favorite Bridal Salon by Top Wedding Planners

Stardust Celebrations was nominated for "My Favorite Vendor - Bridal Salon" by the American Association of Certified Wedding Planners (AACWP) for the sixth consecutive year. And we are thrilled to announce that we have won! Again!

Winners were announced Tuesday night during a fabulous dinner and awards ceremony at the magnificent new Perot Museum of Nature and Science. We are so honored and humbled that the esteemed organization's membership of 80+ expert wedding planners trust us with their brides time and again. It is our goal to make each day great and the Stardust experience extraordinary for each and every bride, as well as her entire wedding community. We are grateful for our incredible staff who work tirelessly to help make that happen!
