Featured Friends Friday: Absolute Entertainment

Vendor company: Absolute Entertainment

Services offered: We produce bands and live musicians for all types of events, including wedding ceremonies and receptions. We also have a lighting department that installs decorative and specialty lighting, and an Audio Visual department that provided sound systems, screens, projectors and a host of additional and AV services.
How did Absolute get started in the wedding industry and when? We started with one band in 1994, The Project Band. They’re still one of our most popular bands, having performed at thousands of events! Over the years their reputation and popularity led to the formation of other bands including CuvĂ©e, Signed Sealed Delivered and the newest addition to our roster, Motion.

What sets Absolute apart from other vendors? Our clients! We believe that without our clients there is no Absolute Entertainment. They’re the reason we’re here and it’s our responsibility to provide them with a level of service that insures that they look to us as a trusted resource, year after year, event after event. We’ve helped so many families with ALL of their children’s weddings over the years, it’s really amazing!

What do you guys do for fun besides weddings? We are a diverse group of people here at Absolute, to say the least! You can find some of us traveling to exotic destinations seeking thrill and adventure, while others are happiest close to home. And of course a lot of our passions lie in the performing and visual arts.

Why do you enjoy working with wedding planners? We’re blessed in this market to have quite a few REALLY good planners and we’re so thankful for them. They’ve invested thousands of hours learning their craft, much like we have as musicians, performers and artists. Personally, I appreciate the level of respect and confidence that the planners show to us.

What is your favorite thing about working w/ a StarDust wedding planner? Marsha and Jenny, of course! And let’s not forget Bob!

Do you have any funny or memorable stories you can share about working with one of our planners? Our lighting crew witnessed this while working on a destination wedding at a ranch in west Texas last year, I know it scared the heck out of Marsha, but the guys got a good laugh out of it! While clearing the area on the ranch where the 20,000 square foot tent would be erected the ranch hands had to “dispose of” quite a few rattle snakes. One of the ranch hands, (one of Marsha’s favorites, as I recall) had the notion that he’d put a dead snake in Marsha’s rental car, while she was in it! Luckily Marsha made her escape, even though the car was still rolling.

What is the best single piece of advice you could give to brides? Invest your wedding dollars on the things that create memories for you, your families and your guests.
